Russ Berkman has always been a photographer of people. Relating to people and the events occuring at the moment has always been of prime interest to him. Russ has had the opportunity to photograph events across the world on various continents. From hospital and Chinese medical training in Beijing, to the fishermen in the fiords of Norway, Russ has always captured the action of the “happening”.

While based in the midwest for 25 years, Russ had the opportunity to be one of the main society photographers in Chicago while working with Mary Cameron Frey of the Chicago Sun-Times. Russ has also served the advertising industry while working with Adweek, DDB Needham, Crains, Cramer Krasselt, and Foote Cone & Belding while covering many of their prestigious events. Other corporate venues include American Cancer Society and their life cycle events, Northwestern University, National-Louis University, Columbia University, and De Paul University in the educational training fields.

Russ is married and has two sons and a young daughter. His interests include Tai Chi Chuan for relaxation, and is also one of the photographers and officers for the Chicago Chapter of the Harley Owners Group. He has relocated to the Southwest in sunny Phoenix, Arizona.
